A dog in Kansas is being praised by police after leading an officer to its owner, who had fallen and could not get back up.
The Leawood Police Department shared body-camera video of the unusual rescue, which began when an officer spotted the leashed dog alone in the middle of a residential street during patrol.
Police said the officer immediately noticed that the dog was wearing a leash, but its owner was nowhere to be seen.
The dog barked at the officer, who responded, “Hi, why don’t you go on back home?”

Instead of returning home, the dog set off down the road. The officer followed it for roughly half a block before reaching the animal’s house, where he found the garage door open and the homeowner lying on the floor.
According to police, the resident had been stuck there for more than three hours.

“Is this where you live?” the officer asked the dogs.
