Made in Korea Season 2 Raises Stakes for Hyun Bin’s KCIA Agent

“Made in Korea” is returning for Season 2, and the new chapter is raising the tension, danger, and ambition to a whole new level.

The Korean drama brings back a powerhouse cast led by Hyun Bin as Baek Kitae, Jung Woosung as Jang Geonyoung, the prosecutor who was framed, and Woo Dohwan as Baek Kihyun, Kitae’s brother.

Season 2 moves the story ahead by nine years. Per the official synopsis, the new season follows Baek Kitae after he successfully framed prosecutor Jang Geonyoung and continued his climb toward power. Now serving as Deputy Director of the Korean CIA, known as the KCIA, Kitae has expanded both his fortune and his influence while growing his drug network across the region. But as political unrest intensifies and public dissatisfaction spreads, Geonyoung resurfaces from the shadows with one mission: revenge nearly a decade in the making. With the stakes higher than ever, the two rivals are prepared to ignore every rule and cross every moral boundary in their fight to destroy each other once and for all.

Woosung reflected on the shift between seasons, explaining that Season 1 centered on the collision between the two main characters, though the balance of power was far from equal. By the finale, Jang Geonyoung had been pushed out and left behind. In Season 2, he returns with a clear purpose: to make Baek Kitae pay.

Hyun Bin also teased that there is one standout sequence he is especially eager for audiences to experience.

According to Bin, one part of the story features Kitae without a single line of dialogue. He said the sequence appeared to run for about 10 minutes in the on-set edit, with Kitae remaining silent until a key moment. The actor shared that he is curious to see how the scene has evolved through post-production and editing, and how viewers will react to such a restrained but intense stretch of storytelling.

Woo Dohwan said fans of the first season will likely be drawn to how much the characters have transformed after almost 10 years. He noted that viewers will be watching for the ways relationships have grown more complicated, how personal ambitions have intensified, and how the scale of the narrative has expanded. For those who connected with Season 1, he suggested, Season 2 may deliver an even more gripping experience.
