A 42-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing multiple children over an eight-year span after allegedly encountering victims at shelters in the Bronx, police and law-enforcement sources said Sunday.

Stephen Charles was arrested Friday and faces a wide range of charges, including six counts of rape and five counts of predatory sexual assault, in connection with the alleged abuse of five children and one adult between Jan. 1, 2018, and May 5, 2026, according to the NYPD.

Investigators allege Charles targeted victims at Bronx shelters, then sexually assaulted them at residences in several neighborhoods, including Morris Heights, Baychester and Soundview.

The child victims were mostly boys, ages 10, 11, 13 and 16, police said. Authorities also allege Charles sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man.

One of the alleged victims is a relative of Charles, sources told The Post. The abuse was reported to police recently, according to sources familiar with the investigation.
