Meghan Markle ‘berated’ her wedding caterer so bad, Queen Elizabeth intervened: book

Duchess of Difficult?

Meghan Markle reportedly “berated” one of her caterers so badly over her vegan wedding menu that Queen Elizabeth II was forced to step in.

“On one occasion in the lead-up to the wedding, Meghan visited Windsor Castle for a menu-tasting and ended up in a tense exchange with a member of staff,” royal biographer Katie Nicholl claimed in her book “The New Royals,” according to the Daily Mail on Sunday.

“Meghan was at the castle to sample some of the dishes,” a source informed Nicholl, alleging that the confrontation escalated when she “informed one of the caterers she could taste egg.”

Markle — who in 2019, a year after tying the knot with Prince Harry, disclosed that she’s not a strict vegan — “became quite upset, stating that the dish was intended to be vegan and macrobiotic,” the insider added.

However, once Queen Elizabeth got word of the alleged incident, she reportedly felt the need to intervene.

“Suddenly the Queen walked in and said: ‘Meghan, in this family we don’t speak to people like that,’” Nicholl’s source alleged.

The Post reached out to Markle’s rep for comment.

In February, the Duchess of Sussex also revealed she made a big change to her diet — and it now includes eating meat.

On Valentine’s Day, Markle dedicated a sweet tribute to her husband of almost seven years with a big plate of burgers and fries in front of them.

“I will eat burgers and fries and fish and chips with you forever,” her post read.

In the September 2019 issue of British Vogue, Markle revealed she was not vegan, despite previously saying she consciously made an effort to eat more plant-based foods.

“So, over a casual lunch of chicken tacos and my ever-burgeoning bump, I asked Michelle [Obama] if she would help me with this secret project,” she casually told the style magazine.

Markle has been the subject of several controversies since marrying Prince Harry in May 2018, with one of the most famous being with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

Markle and Middleton reportedly made each other cry after finding themselves at odds over the dress Princess Charlotte was to wear during the wedding ceremony.

While the Duchess of Sussex spoke about the incident in her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, an anonymous royal staffer revealed the truth behind the alleged feud.

“The truth is that during the discussions about [Charlotte’s] bridesmaid’s dress, Meghan said a few things she regretted and Kate said a few things she later regretted, but it was all in the heat of the moment. Both women were crying their eyes out,” Tom Quinn wrote in his new book, “Yes, Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants.”

In February, Quinn claimed Markle had allegedly been nicknamed the “Duchess of Difficult” “for a while.”

“She could be difficult because she was finding life difficult — trying to feel her way and work out the intricacies of a positively medieval, labyrinthine system,” another anonymous staffer told him.
