Metallica Rose Harrison's mugshot revealed after alleged murders

Metallica Rose Harrison appeared tearful in her mugshot after being charged with allegedly murdering her husband and young son at a Poconos resort, while investigators searched the family’s Pennsylvania home for evidence that could help explain the shocking double killing.

The 27-year-old mother was arraigned Tuesday on two counts of criminal homicide, one day after police said she stabbed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son, Tristan, in the chest at Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Pennsylvania.

According to authorities, Harrison called 911 after the attack, confessed to killing the pair and then asked the operator for assistance in ending her own life.

On Wednesday, detectives searched the family’s residence in Towanda, about two hours north of the resort, as they worked to determine what may have led to the alleged killings.

Investigators said the search could “reveal valuable evidence relating to the motive for this incident” and help establish whether the knife used at the resort was connected to other items in the home, according to a warrant application obtained by ABC News.

The application noted that people involved in similar cases sometimes record homicidal or suicidal thoughts in handwritten notes or electronic devices before, during or after the alleged act.

Court records show that police collected nearly a dozen knives from the residence, along with a safe, journal, financial notebook, laptop and additional materials.

Police said Harrison placed the 911 call shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday, asking where she could find the proper vein in her neck to kill herself after allegedly attacking her family.

In the criminal complaint, she allegedly told the dispatcher she was “too weak to stab my neck.” She said she had knives, but they were “not working,” and that she needed “help dying.”

When the dispatcher asked whether anyone else was with her, Harrison reportedly replied: “My husband and son are already gone in the bed… They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” according to the complaint.

Officers arriving at the lodge found Harrison with cuts on her wrists and neck. She was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The complaint states that Charles Harrison had suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest, while Tristan had been stabbed once in the chest.

A large butcher knife and a smaller knife were reportedly discovered in the bathroom, along with suspected blood containers and several medications, court documents say.

The family checked into Great Wolf Lodge on Sept. 21 and later extended the reservation on Oct. 5. Authorities allege that Harrison had emptied her husband’s 401(k) retirement account to help cover the trip.
