Miley Cyrus clarified the rumors about a supposed conflict with her well-known parents after her mother, Tish Cyrus, unfollowed her following Miley’s reunion with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
“I seldom address rumors, but my mom and I are too close for anything to drive a wedge between us,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer mentioned through her Instagram Stories on Saturday.
“She’s my best friend. Like many moms, she isn’t quite savvy with her phone and accidentally unfollowed me — it’s a simple, coincidental, and uninteresting matter.”
“My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else.
“I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”
Last week, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Tish unfollowed Miley on social media, though a source told Page Six “it was a glitch” and there was “no drama.”
They were quick to speculate that the matriarch was fuming after her famous daughter met up with Billy Ray to celebrate her brother Braison Cyrus’ 31st birthday.
A photo shared via Instagram saw the “Achy Breaky Heart” crooner posing with his son, Miley and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando.
The “Party in the USA” singer appeared in good spirits as she wrapped her arms around her beau.
A few days before their reunion, Billy Ray shared a video of Miley singing, captioning it, “Can’t wait to see this young lady.”
The Cyrus family has been in the middle of years-long feud rumors since the country singer and Tish divorced in 2022.
The split “put a strain on [Miley’s] relationship with her dad,” an insider told E! News at the time.
The “Last Song” star notably excluded Billy Ray from her acceptance speech after her 2023 hit “Flowers” won record of the year at the Grammys.
In 2023, Tish remarried “Prison Break” star Dominic Purcell, which allegedly received the disapproval of her daughter Noah Cyrus.
Noah was reportedly seeing Purcell when “Tish started pursuing him,” per Us Weekly. The mother-daughter duo, however, has appeared to have reconciled.
Billy Ray, meanwhile, married singer Firerose that same year, and they divorced in 2024.
He’s since moved on with actress Elizabeth Hurley.
