An estimated two million bees were released after an 18-wheeler transporting beehives overturned in Texas.
Photos from the scene, shared by Queen Bee Supply, showed beekeepers working urgently to contain massive swarms buzzing around the overturned truck in Mauriceville on Sunday.
Local authorities asked beekeepers across the area to assist with the unusual and chaotic cleanup effort, KBTX reported.
“Not something you ever want to see, but so nice to see beekeepers helping beekeepers. From commercial outfits to backyard beekeepers, grateful for everyone that came out and helped,” the company wrote in a social media post.

Orange County Emergency Services advised nearby residents to remain indoors while crews transferred the hives from the damaged semi to other transport vehicles, according to KOGT.
Officials said the truck had been carrying about 50,000 pounds of bees when it flipped over.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as crews work to safely resolve this incident,” the agency said in a statement.
No injuries were reported, though a photographer with Beaumont-based news outlet KDFM was stung while covering the scene.
