Democratic Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar shared a message from Hoffman’s wife on Sunday, saying the state senator was shot nine times and she eight.

“John is undergoing numerous surgeries at the moment and with each passing hour, he is getting closer to being safe,” Yvette shared. “He was struck by [nine] bullets. I suffered [eight], and we are both incredibly fortunate to be alive. Our hearts are shattered and deeply saddened by the loss of Melissa and Mark. This type of political hatred has no place in our world.”

Authorities noted that Boelter had signage in his car stating “No Kings.” On Saturday afternoon, protests labeled “No Kings” were organized in various cities across the United States to voice opposition to the Trump administration’s ICE raids.
