An American woman who went missing after not returning to a Holland America cruise ship in Marigot, Saint Martin, has been located.
The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) announced on Facebook that Ann Evans was found after being reported missing on November 20.
KPSM stated that Evans was contacted through coordination with other partners involved in the search.
Authorities revealed that Evans did not return to the Rotterdam cruise ship in Port St. Maarten after she left a tour bus during an organized island excursion in Marigot earlier this month.
“During the tour, Ms. Evans disembarked in Marigot, French Saint Martin,” the police reported, “and subsequently did not reboard the bus or return to the cruise ship.”
Both French and Dutch law enforcement agencies on the island were notified and engaged in the search for Evans.

A female matching the description of Evans used her passport to check into a hotel on the French side of the island.
She has also been seen in the area around the hotel, according to a local news outlet.
A similar case occurred in September when a 47-year-old American woman left a cruise ship while docked in Bonaire and never returned.
She remains missing.

Not all missing-person cases are resolved, and some end without a definitive explanation.
The law enforcement agency stated that it would not provide any further details.
“In accordance with the laws governing privacy and the protection of personal data, no additional information will be released about the individual or their circumstances,” KPSM said on Facebook.
