Missing mom's remains found, suspect with rap sheet already in jail on different charge

In a separate North Carolina case, deputies say they found the remains of a young mother buried on a residential property.

Jordan Wishon was reported missing Friday by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. Within two days of her disappearance, the investigation took a tragic turn when authorities discovered human remains while carrying out a search warrant, prompting the case to shift into a murder investigation.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media update that investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Pebblestone Lane in Rutherfordton at about 5:17 a.m. During the search, authorities found human remains buried on the property and later confirmed they belonged to Wishon.
