An Indianapolis mother who allegedly killed her 9-year-old son before taking her own life had previously shared a GoFundMe fundraiser for the family of Lindsay Clancy, whose own case involved the deaths of her three children, according to a social media post.
Shatayvia Alisha Calderon, 33, and her son, Julian, were found Monday afternoon inside their apartment with fatal gunshot wounds, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
A police spokesperson told The Post that the incident is “believed to be a murder-suicide in which the mother killed her son and then herself.”
“This is unthinkable. And we’re here to not only investigate, but to provide resources as well. Not only here on scene, but in the days, weeks that follow this,” Officer Drew Brown told WTHR.
Officers were dispatched shortly after 1 p.m. following a 911 call reporting that two people had been shot at a condominium complex in the 4400 block of Village Lane, according to IMPD.
Police entered the residence and found the mother and child unresponsive.
Medical personnel pronounced both victims dead at the scene. A firearm was recovered nearby.
Authorities have not said what led to the deadly shooting. Investigators said they have spoken with a witness who is cooperating with the investigation.

Nearly three years before the bloodshed, Calderon posted a fundraiser on Facebook for Patrick Clancy, seeking financial support for the grieving father as he navigated an “unimaginable tragedy.”
Almost three years before the Indianapolis deaths, Calderon shared a Facebook fundraiser for Patrick Clancy, offering financial assistance to the grieving father as he faced what the page described as an “unimaginable tragedy.”
“On behalf of the extended Clancy Family we invite you to offer support for Patrick as he navigates an unimaginable tragedy,” the GoFundMe description stated.
“We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and outreach in support,” the message continued.
Clancy’s wife, Lindsay, 36, went on trial after being accused of killing the couple’s three young children with exercise bands at their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on Jan. 24, 2023.
Lindsay argued that she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity, saying she was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis.
The jury declared a mistrial in early September. A new trial date has not been scheduled.
