Two young children and their father are recovering in a hospital after investigators said a Texas mother attacked the family with a knife inside their home Tuesday.
Holly Leeann Flores, 37, of Northlake, Texas, is accused of stabbing her two children—a 10-month-old baby and a 3-year-old—before their father stepped in, according to investigators.
The 34-year-old father called 911 early Tuesday and reported that his wife had stabbed him. When emergency responders arrived, they found both children suffering from stab wounds to the chest area.

Police said officers were sent to a home in the 1200 block of Daylily Drive after receiving a report of an ongoing stabbing.
Flores’s husband was reportedly stabbed in the head. FOX 4 said he was treated for a stab wound described as non-life-threatening.

The three victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
According to the New York Post, Northlake police had responded to the family’s home five times since March over what were described as welfare concerns.
Jail records show Flores faces two counts of attempted aggravated capital murder involving children under 10, along with a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon.

Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford described the incident as “heartbreaking” during a Tuesday news conference.
