CHICAGO (WLS) — According to sources from ABC7, a car accident on the South Side of the city involved Chicago police officers and two small children who sustained injuries Wednesday evening.
The crash happened around 6:376 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Racine Avenue in Englewood, Chicago Police Department officials said.

Police reported that a 32-year-old woman driving in a turn lane on 59th Street collided with a Chicago Police Department squad car on Racine, which had its emergency lights on.
The woman was transported to a hospital and is reported to be in fair condition. Meanwhile, the male police officer, whose age was not disclosed, was also hospitalized with injuries to his left shoulder and hand but is in good condition.
Sources later told ABC7 that two officers were taken to a hospital in good condition. Sources also said two young children in the woman’s vehicle were also injured, and were taken to a hospital in serious to critical condition.
Chicago police later confirmed that two officers were taken to the hospital.
The woman was cited for having no license and no insurance and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, police said.
No further information about the crash was immediately available.
