A Navy veteran is facing charges of attempted murder after allegedly assaulting and severely injuring the proprietor of the renowned “Trump House” in Southern California. The incident, which took place on Wednesday, has left the victim’s family fearing for his survival. Meanwhile, the accused has been identified as Thomas Caleb Butler, a 32-year-old who reportedly struggles with mental health issues.
Butler is currently detained without bail at the Vista Detention Facility located in San Diego County. A close acquaintance of Butler revealed to the California Post that the reasons behind Butler’s attack on 69-year-old homeowner Kerry Sheron remain unclear. However, it was noted that Butler was under medication for his mental condition.
“He’s just someone who enjoys simple things like Legos and Star Wars,” the friend remarked, shedding light on Butler’s character.

They found a man, later identified as Sheron, “suffering from significant injuries,” and police said that a bystander who intervened during the alleged attack was also injured.
Butler fled the scene but was tracked down by police shortly thereafter.
Sheron is currently in intensive care, and his wife, Maria Garcia, told The Post that she doesn’t expect her husband to survive.

“He tried to kill my husband, you know,” she told CBS 8. “It’s terrible. I don’t know what kind of hate… what heart, the black heart.”
