Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, accusing him of “fomenting hate” and worsening divisions across the city. Netanyahu said Mamdani’s anti-Israel remarks have left many Jewish residents feeling unsafe, pointing to a recent synagogue stabbing that followed Mamdani’s latest “war criminal” comment. Calling the rhetoric “shameful,” Netanyahu said he still intends to visit New York in September.

The Washington lawmaker said demonstrators shouted death threats outside his home, threatened his wife and made public dialogue impossible. “This is my biggest problem with the left,” Smith said, arguing that intimidation has undercut free speech.
