– Senior House Democrat says threats from anti-Israel activists kept him away from town halls for more than a year

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, accusing him of “fomenting hate” and worsening divisions across the city. Netanyahu said Mamdani’s anti-Israel remarks have left many Jewish residents feeling unsafe, pointing to a recent synagogue stabbing that followed Mamdani’s latest “war criminal” comment. Calling the rhetoric “shameful,” Netanyahu said he still intends to visit New York in September.

Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon reflected on the passing of Sen. Lindsey Graham, recalling what he described as Graham’s steadfast support for Israel and his long-standing commitment to the U.S.-Israel alliance:

New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns attended a local Jewish youth fundraiser, calling it an honor to represent the city at the Chazaq event. His appearance comes amid a rise in antisemitic hate crimes across New York City, while NBA figures Kyrie Irving and Victor Wembanyama have faced criticism for liking anti-Israel posts from Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Rep. Adam Smith, a top House Democrat, said threats from anti-Israel activists forced him to stop holding town halls for more than a year. The Washington lawmaker said demonstrators shouted death threats outside his home, threatened his wife and made public dialogue impossible. “This is my biggest problem with the left,” Smith said, arguing that intimidation has undercut free speech.

Jewish Democrats in Michigan are warning party leaders they may support Republican Mike Rogers if Abdul El-Sayed wins the Democratic Senate primary. Donors critical of El-Sayed’s anti-Israel positions said his rhetoric has made local Jews feel less secure, accusing him of drawing false equivalencies between Israel and Hamas as concerns grow inside the party.

: A horrific new report reveals 2025 was the in over three decades, with 20 people murdered in top Western nations. Fuelled by unhinged online hate and anti-Israel extremism, total violent hate crimes skyrocketed by 97% since 2022, forcing terrified Jewish communities around the world into hiding.

: Ze’ev Orenstein, director of international affairs for the City of David Foundation in Jerusalem, writes that America’s core founding principles—like equality, human dignity, accountability, and free speech— rather than ancient Greece or Rome.

“History shows Jews are the canary in the coal mine: When hatred against Jews rises unchecked, it’s an early warning that everyone’s safety and rights are at risk.” – ADL Senior Director of Global Research and Diplomatic Affairs Aykan Erdemir.
