NY man shows up drunk to pick friend up from DWI arrest: cops

An unusual incident unfolded in New York when a driver reportedly arrived intoxicated to retrieve a friend who had just been arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). This curious case involves 25-year-old Antone Glionna from Hagaman, who appeared at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office intending to take his newly released friend home on a Saturday, as reported by the sheriff.

The situation caught the attention of authorities when Glionna inadvertently drove into a restricted area of the facility, bypassing the designated public parking area. This misstep led deputies to approach him for questioning.

“A deputy sheriff approached Glionna, suspecting he was under the influence of alcohol,” stated the sheriff’s office. Their suspicions were confirmed when Glionna allegedly failed the standardized field sobriety tests administered on the spot.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, a check of Glionna’s DMV records revealed that his driver’s license had already been revoked, a consequence of a previous DWI conviction, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was cuffed after allegedly failing standardized field sobriety tests.

A subsequent DMV records checked showed Glionna’s license had already been revoked due to a prior DWI conviction, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was arrested and charged with driving without a license and driving while intoxicated.

Glionna was issued a court appearance ticket for a later date.

It wasn’t immediately clear who picked him up.
