Norovirus outbreak on Ruby Princess cruise ship affects over 120 passengers and crew; docked at SF's Pier 27 for cleaning

SAN FRANCISCO — More than 120 passengers and crew members aboard a Princess Cruises ship that arrived in San Francisco on Thursday became ill with a stomach virus during the voyage, according to federal health officials.

The Ruby Princess was completing a 20-day round-trip sailing from San Francisco to Canada and Alaska when 102 passengers and 23 crew members reported symptoms of norovirus, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
