Oklahoma-based Southwest Airlines flight attendant found dead in Hawaii, police investigating

A Southwest Airlines flight attendant from Oklahoma was found dead outside a hotel in Hawaii while on a layover.

The Honolulu Police Department confirmed to News Outlet that it has opened an unattended death investigation into 50-year-old Jenny Lupton, whose family said she fell from the 24th floor of her Honolulu hotel.

Lupton’s relatives told News9 they were informed by the Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner that she fell from a balcony on the 24th floor while staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki.

Her sister, Tresa Lupton, said Jenny had spent time out with co-workers before her death.

“She just went out with one of her flight attendant friends, and they danced and had a good time,” Tresa Lupton said. “She had gotten a tattoo while she was there.”

Tresa said her sister was in Hawaii for work and had planned to remain there for a few days before heading back home to Oklahoma.

According to Lupton’s family, hotel security told them that police are reviewing over 70 cameras that were in the area. Police aren’t sure if anyone witnessed the fall.

Tresa Lupton said she’s traveling to Hawaii to search for her sister, saying “the timeline doesn’t make sense, and we are afraid that maybe there was foul play.”

The Honolulu Police Department said it won’t be releasing more information until its investigation is complete.
