They took community service to a whole new level.
A group of compassionate Oklahoma firefighters stepped in to finish mowing a man’s lawn after he became ill while tackling yard work, officials said.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department said in a Facebook post that crews were recently called to a medical emergency involving a man who got sick while cutting the grass outside his home.
Once firefighters treated the man and he was transported by ambulance, they realized his yard had been left only “half-finished.”
“We couldn’t leave it that way, so we finished the job,” the department said in its statement.

Video posted by the department showed the uniformed first responders calmly pushing the mower across the property, turning a medical call into a quiet act of kindness.
“Service does not always stop when the emergency is over,” the department wrote. “It was a simple act of kindness and a reminder that caring for our community goes beyond the call.”
Local residents quickly filled the comments with praise, applauding the Oklahoma City firefighters for going the extra mile with their thoughtful lawn-care gesture.
“Love this! Our neighbor is an OKC firefighter and he is one of the best guys we’ve ever met. A great group of people and our city is lucky to have them!” one user said.
“This is an amazing act of kindness. Not required but because you guys care! Thank you so much,” another user wrote.
