Businessman and podcaster Patrick Bet-David said attacking President Trump would be “the dumbest thing Democrats could do” if they take control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections.
During the latest episode of “Pod Force One,” the host of the “PBD Podcast” predicted that a Democratic push against Trump after a potential blue wave in November could instead strengthen the MAGA movement and propel another member of the Trump family into the 2028 presidential race.
“If they go and they try to arrest, impeach – the same playbook they used in 2020, 2021 – if they do that …. you know who will suddenly show up in the 2027-2028 election running for president? Not just [Secretary of State Marco] Rubio, not [Vice President] JD Vance, but Eric and Lara Trump,” Bet-David told “Pod Force One” host Miranda Devine.
Bet-David argued that Eric Trump, the president’s 42-year-old son, could compete with potential Republican contenders such as Vance and Rubio.
“So can Lara,” he said of Eric’s wife. “They’re media trained. They have the money. They’re good-looking. They’re young. Their last name is Trump.

“And just to give the Democratic Party a middle finger, I think the MAGA base will get behind them enough to help them win because that’s their way of saying three terms of Trump.”
Bet-David described targeting Trump and energizing his supporters ahead of the next presidential election as “the dumbest thing Democrats could do if they win the midterms.”

“That’s the dumbest. But I would not be surprised if they do it because they haven’t shown restraint,” Bet-David said.
He acknowledged that Eric and Lara Trump might not win the Republican primaries if they enter the race, but suggested that one of them could still finish among the top three candidates.
Bet-David also praised Lara Trump’s performance as co-chair of the Republican National Committee during the 2024 election cycle, calling her “very talented.”
“When the president won in 2024, don’t forget, Lara deployed 2,000 lawyers to go to every one of the districts that they were possibly considering cheating. She watched everybody like a hawk,” he said.
“You see, there is the stage thing that we all watch on TV on how to run for office, then there is the operation behind closed doors.
“Lara Trump knows how to do that as well, and it’s a secret weapon.”
