Patrick Clancy makes heartbreaking revelation about his dead children in first interview since mistrial

Patrick Clancy says he continues to speak with his three deceased children “all the time,” asking them to help him endure the pain of their deaths, in a new interview clip scheduled to air Thursday.

“I talk to them,” Clancy told CBS correspondent Ross Douthat in his first interview since his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, faced a mistrial in the case involving the deaths of their children.

When asked what he says to them, he replied: “‘Help me.’ All the time.”

Lindsay Clancy, a 36-year-old former delivery nurse, has acknowledged strangling the couple’s three children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan—in the basement of their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023.

Her murder trial drew intense national attention but ended in a hung jury, with the panel split 11-1 after one juror refused to support an acquittal.

Defense attorneys argued that Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings and therefore could not be held legally responsible for her actions.

Jurors deliberated for more than 38 hours over seven days before telling Plymouth Judge William Sullivan that they could not reach a unanimous verdict.

Since the trial began, Patrick Clancy, 38, has also faced a wave of disturbing threats and misinformation. He remarried in April and now lives in New York, while online influencers have circulated claims blaming him for the deaths of his children.

“Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign,” his attorney, Howard Cooper, told Boston 25 News.

Cooper said the misinformation campaign was being pushed by minor celebrities, social media influencers and conspiracy theorists seeking attention and possible financial gain. He accused them of knowingly spreading false claims that Patrick was involved in his children’s deaths, along with other “vile claims.”

Cooper indicated that the family may consider legal action against those responsible for distributing the allegations.

While testifying, Patrick maintained a composed demeanor and described his former wife as a caring mother. He recalled that she would “make up songs” for the children and prepare special meals, including green eggs and ham.

The complete interview is scheduled to air Sunday night on “60 Minutes.”
