LOS ANGELES — Hall H was packed with excited “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, where the Disney+ series’ cast and creative team unveiled an exclusive early look at what is ahead for Season 3.
The next chapter, officially titled “The Titan’s Curse,” is set to debut Nov. 20 on Disney+.
Stars Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Tamara Smart, Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie appeared on the panel alongside executive producers Craig Silverstein and Dan Shotz. Content creator Juju Green moderated the conversation.
Season 3 will bring Rick Riordan’s third Disney Hyperion novel to the screen for the first time. Leah Sava Jeffries was unable to join the panel in person because of overseas production commitments on “The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen,” but she still took part by sending a video message that introduced a surprise preview of the season’s opening minutes.
Speaking with On The Red Carpet during the convention, the young ensemble shared their reaction to launching the weekend’s main stage programming in one of Comic-Con’s most iconic rooms.
“We got to open up Hall H for the first time,” Simhadri said. “And just seeing it packed that early in the morning, I mean, is ridiculous.”
Scobell also pointed to the devotion of the show’s fan base, noting how far many had gone to secure a seat. “Some people waited… like slept in line for 20 hours. It’s insane,” Scobell said.
For the show’s younger stars, stepping out in front of such a massive Comic-Con crowd was equal parts exhilarating and intimidating.
“I was really nervous at first,” Abercrombie said. “When I walked out there, just seeing how many people were like excited to see us there, I just like locked in.”
“Were we the first ones in Hall H?” Bushnell asked Smart during the interview, before adding, “Wow, I didn’t even know that, that’s crazy. Such an honor, it’s so good to be back.”
Smart noted the unique community atmosphere of the convention. “It’s such a wonderful event to bring people together, so it’s such an honor to be here,” Smart said.
In the upcoming season, Percy Jackson faces the disappearance of Annabeth while grappling with the Oracle of Delphi’s Great Prophecy. The fate of Olympus rests on a child of the “Big Three” demigods, who is prophesied to either bring the realm to new heights or total destruction.
