JSO: Teen shot, killed at Hollybrook Homes Apartments on King Street

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said surveillance footage revealed that the suspect was seen fleeing the apartments on foot.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A teenage male was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Jacksonville’s Mixon Town area on Wednesday night, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

At 8:50 p.m., JSO said patrol officers responded to Hollybrook Homes Apartments located at 104 King St. in reference to the shooting.

Upon arrival, officers encountered the teenager with several gunshot wounds, as per JSO. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department attended the scene, transporting the victim to a nearby hospital, where he subsequently passed away, according to JSO.

Though the investigation is still in its initial stages, JSO Sgt. Thompson revealed that surveillance footage captured the suspect escaping the complex on foot, heading in an unknown direction.
