WASHINGTON — This fall, Pop-Tarts is expanding its breakfast offerings with the return of a cherished flavor and the introduction of new protein-packed pastries.
Kellanova, the company behind Pop-Tarts, announced that Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pop-Tarts will make a comeback in November. This popular flavor was last available in 2022.
The returning version will feature a caramelized chocolate chip cookie-inspired filling wrapped in a golden crust and topped with the well-known chocolate icing swirl.
Each bite, the company said, “delivers the perfect mix of nostalgia and indulgence.”
The pastries will be sold at stores nationwide, costing $3.49 for an 8-count box.

Additionally, the company revealed a new series of protein-rich breakfast snacks. Each Pop-Tarts Protein pastry contains 10 grams of protein, while still delivering the brand’s iconic flavors.
The new Pop-Tarts Protein line debuts in three varieties:
-
Slammin’ Strawberry, featuring the classic tart strawberry filling with frosting and rainbow sprinkles.
-
Boostin’ Brown Sugar Cinnamon, with a gooey brown sugar cinnamon center and a golden-brown crust.
-
Bumpin’ Blueberry, packed with jam-like blueberry filling, sweet icing, and crunchy sprinkles.
Pop-Tarts Protein will also be available nationwide beginning in November, at an MSRP of $3.99 for an 8-count box.

Born from Kellogg Co.’s division into two entities last year, Kellanova joins many other companies that are embracing the protein trend, catering to consumers eager to boost their macronutrient intake. Previously, they introduced protein-fortified Eggo waffles in May 2024.
Protein is an essential building block of life, made up of amino acids. It’s what the body uses to build and repair muscles.
