During Thursday’s episode of “The Briefing” on MS NOW, Representative Dan Goldman from New York expressed strong criticism of the FBI, alleging that the agency’s preoccupation with political issues is undermining its core mission of ensuring the safety and security of Americans. Goldman remarked, “The FBI is doing such a poor job because they’re so focused on the politics of everything. That’s what we’re losing through this dreadful FBI.” He further defended the Biden administration, arguing that the lack of arrests in the 2021 pipe bomb incident should not be seen as a failure on their part.
Host Jen Psaki raised a point about claims made by Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, who suggested that evidence related to the pipe bomber case was neglected under the Biden Department of Justice. Psaki asked Goldman whether he believed there was any mishandling of the investigation.
Goldman responded by downplaying the allegations, stating, “I don’t even think their allegations are that anything was mishandled.” He acknowledged the success of capturing the alleged bomber, praising the investigative efforts. However, Goldman criticized the environment within the FBI, stating that politics have overshadowed their duties. “Why is everything chest-thumping? Just do your job,” he asserted. According to Goldman, this political focus has led to low morale within the agency and hindered its effectiveness in protecting the public. “That is what is missing,” he emphasized.
