President Trump is expected to attend next month’s World Cup final in New Jersey, according to a new report.
The tournament’s championship match is set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
People familiar with the plans told NBC News that the president is likely to be there, while noting that his schedule could still change as the date approaches.
A White House official also told the network that the event was being “held” on Trump’s calendar.
Trump previously attended the FIFA Club World Cup final at the Meadowlands last summer.
The White House did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
The tournament kicked off on Thursday and the US menâs national team played their first match in Los Angeles Friday night.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin were among the members of the Trump administration in Los Angeles attending the US teamâs first game.
Trump wished the American squad luck Thursday during a phone call ahead of the teamâs match against Paraguay.
âI just called to say youâre a fantastic guy, a fantastic coach,â Trump told US menâs national team manager Mauricio Pochettino. âI know about your record, your success and how great the players are.
âI think youâve got a really good chance of going all the way so I just wish you a lot of luck.â
Trump, a massive sports fan, has attended several major events since the start of his second term in January 2025 â including Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, this past yearâs College Football Playoff National Championship in Miami, the 2025 menâs US Open tennis final at Flushing Meadows and the Daytona 500 auto race in Florida.
Most recently, Trump attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, where he cheered on the New York Knicks.
