An amusement park ride malfunction in Saudi Arabia has reportedly left 23 people injured, with three critically hurt.
A video capturing the event shows a ride labeled “360 degrees” swinging back and forth, before the arm with the rotating wheel holding passengers detached from the ride’s frame.
As the ride fell to the ground, passengers could be heard screaming. This incident occurred on Wednesday at Green Mountain Park in Taif, Saudi Arabia, according to available reports.
According to witnesses, the passengers were injured despite being securely strapped into their seats when the fall occurred. The rapid recoil of the central pole also contributed to injuries, they noted.

Green Mountain Park is not the only establishment to have ride problems in recent months.
Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, has been experiencing malfunctions on its new “Siren’s Curse” ride, as riders have been left stuck several times.

In a similar past incident, last October, a shocking video from Ecuador showed two gondola cars breaking away from an elevated amusement park ride and crashing, resulting in ten injuries, including six severe cases, at a mobile fairground.
