NFL's Roger Goodell's Weakness on Full Display With Response About Choosing Bad Bunny for Super Bowl

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s tenure appears overdue for an end, especially after his recent comments regarding the Super Bowl halftime performer, Bad Bunny, and the future inclusion of transgender players. These remarks could very well mark the final chapter of his role.

Addressing the media after the NFL’s annual fall owners meeting, Goodell stood by the decision to feature the anti-ICE Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny. The singer, who sparked controversy during a “Saturday Night Live” performance by singing in Spanish and challenging Americans to learn the language within four months to follow his Super Bowl halftime show, remains a point of contention.

“The halftime show is a crucial platform for us,” Goodell stated. “It adds significant entertainment value and is a decision we make with careful consideration.”

He continued, “I don’t think we’ve ever chosen an artist without facing some criticism. It’s challenging when you have hundreds of millions of viewers.”

“It’s an important stage for us,” Goodell said. “It’s an important element to the entertainment value. It’s carefully thought through.”

“I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism,” he added. “It’s pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching.”

“But I’m confident it’s going to be a great show,” Goodell continued. “He understands the platform that he’s on, and I think it’s going to be exciting and a united moment.”

Part of me thinks Goodell looked generally shocked by the question. But the other part knows that this is the same person who wholeheartedly embraced promoting Black Lives Matter, and pushing social justice messages to fans of the NFL after George Floyd’s death.

It wasn’t just his response to Bad Bunny. He utterly failed to stand up for girls’ and women’s rights in sports, to not have to play against a biological male.

It happened when Goodell was asked about the growing popularity of flag football as part of the league’s future, among girls and women, by an OutKick reporter.

So, I asked Roger Goodell what the NFL would do about transgender girls in girls’ flag football, and he said it hasn’t been on the radar.

The NFL commissioner’s response:

“Armando, it’s something we haven’t discussed at this point in time,” Goodell said. “So, I don’t have an answer on that for you. We haven’t even discussed that.”

Really? No, answer on an issue that was 80-20 during the 2024 election, with Americans overwhelmingly appalled by the unfairness of boys playing in girls’ sports, not to mention the danger it puts them in?

The league that literally celebrates the strength and athleticism of men needs a stronger leader than Goodell, who unabashedly refuses to stop promoting a woke agenda despite the fact fans of the league want none of it.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
