Russell Wilson feeling 'part of New York now' as he takes in Knicks playoffs, Subway Series

Since taking up the role of quarterback for the Giants, Russell Wilson has been frequently seen around the city, making appearances at Celebrity Row during the Knicks’ journey to the Eastern Conference finals.

Page Six reported that the NFL great was seen celebrating with a group of celebrities, including the Knicks and Bad Bunny, at a trendy Meatpacking District venue following their decisive Game 6 victory over the Celtics on Friday night.

Wilson, who was drafted in 2010 by the Rockies in the fourth round of the MLB draft, revisited his baseball background on Sunday night by attending the Yankees-Mets game with his singer wife Ciara and their kids.

“It’s been a lot of fun being around the Knicks and going to their games at MSG,” Wilson told The Post during batting practice. “The experience of watching and being part of that atmosphere and getting to know Jalen [Brunson] and Josh [Hart] and KAT [Karl-Anthony Towns] and all those guys has been really special.

“It’s been a lot of fun just feeling like we’re part of New York now, and to be around the other teams, and these great athletes, like my friend Aaron Judge. I’m looking forward to the new season with the Giants.”

Wilson, who went to spring training with the Yankees as a non-roster invitee in 2018, and Ciara posed for photos with Judge, New Jersey product Anthony Volpe and others outside the Yankees dugout during BP.

The 10-time Pro Bowler said Sunday’s game was a gift for his son Future’s 11th birthday on Monday. Future Wilson’s Little League team — the Yankees, of course — won its division championship last week in San Diego.

“It’s always important to be around this winning culture and especially the baseball guys like Aaron, who I’ve been close with, having been in spring training with these guys, it’s always an honor,” Wilson said. “I’ve always been a huge Yankees fan since I was little. I loved Derek Jeter and the tradition of it all. Those things matter to me.”

The Giants signed the 13-year NFL veteran — and Super Bowl winner with the Seahawks — to a one-year deal worth up to $21 million with $10.5 million guaranteed after the team finished with a 3-14 in 2024.

They also added veteran QB Jameis Winston and moved up in the draft to select Ole Miss signal-caller Jaxson Dart with the 25th overall pick.

“I’m excited about being a New York Giant and excited about our team,” said Wilson, who spent last season with the Steelers. “With all the hard work we’ve put in, it’s going to be an exciting year for us.”
