More Winning: San Diego Border Sector Closes Facility After 'Unprecedented Decrease' in Illegal Crossings

On “Fox and Friends” this morning, Charlie Hurt put it this way:

The border is closed. This achievement is quite remarkable; if any president managed to do what President Trump has achieved at the border, they’d likely think their job was done. However, President Trump continues to work diligently. The chief patrol agent in the San Diego sector commented: “Due to the significant decrease in illegal crossings this year, the expansive 1,000-person San Diego Sector Soft Sided Facility has been dismantled. In March 2025, the San Diego Sector apprehended 1,199 illegal aliens with an average of 38 per day. This is a 186% decline compared to March 2024.”

A 186 percent drop is an astonishing figure. Consider for a moment what has occurred. An election took place, and Trump won by a landslide. Now, only five months later, we are seeing the closure of migrant facilities. What frustrates Republicans even more is that all of this has been accomplished through executive action; Congress has yet to pass a comprehensive border bill to further enhance these efforts. The message from President Trump and his administration is clear—do not attempt to enter the country illegally, or you will be sent home immediately. It’s becoming evident that those considering illegal entry have understood this message.
