Last week, security cameras recorded an intense encounter between a dog and a full-sized black bear as they faced off inside a California home.

Zoë Cadman, a resident of Monrovia, posted a video on social media showing a large bear wandering around her backyard before it entered her house just before midnight on June 14.

“Imagine waking up in the dead of night to find a bear rummaging through your fridge, only 10 feet from where you’re sleeping!” Cadman shared in a Facebook post. “No, I didn’t grab my phone. Apparently, I let out a roar and dashed out the front door. Brave Doodle saved the day!”

Earlier this year, Kentucky homeowners were met with a similar surprise when a black bear crashed through their ceiling. Officials said the bear had likely climbed a ladder and squeezed into the attic before crashing down into the kitchen.

Zoë Cadman and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
