Car explodes near Wall Street's Charging Bull: video

A dramatic scene unfolded near Wall Street’s famed Charging Bull statue when an MTA vehicle erupted in a massive fireball, causing panic among nearby pedestrians who scrambled to safety.

Captured in vivid video, the incident began with the vehicle engulfed in flames during the bustling Tuesday evening rush hour, right outside the MTA’s headquarters at 2 Broadway, just a block away from the iconic landmark.

Suddenly, the vehicle exploded into a towering fireball, prompting terrified onlookers to flee from the intense heat and danger.

Authorities, including police and firefighters, quickly responded to reports of the car fire at the intersection of Broadway and Stone Street around 5:42 p.m., according to an FDNY spokesperson. Sources indicated that it took nearly 90 minutes for the blaze to be fully extinguished.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, the FDNY confirmed.

While there is currently no indication of foul play, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A further picture shared on social media shows the charred remains of the vehicle outside a Starbucks.

The MTA confirmed the car was one of its own, but referred further inquiries about the blaze to the FDNY.
