A startling incident unfolded in New Jersey when a dump truck was dramatically engulfed by a massive sinkhole it was dispatched to repair. In an unexpected turn of events, a second sinkhole nearby also claimed a car, adding to the chaos.
The dump truck was in the process of delivering asphalt on Tuesday when it found itself trapped, wedged vertically with its front half protruding above the pavement in the town of Phillipsburg, close to the Pennsylvania border. This dramatic scene was captured on video and shared by 6 ABC, capturing the attention of many.
The mishap caused significant infrastructure damage as the truck’s fall ruptured a water main, leaving a large number of residents without water. Aqua New Jersey, the local utility company, confirmed the disruption in water services for dozens of customers.
