First responders at the scene revealed that the pedestrian was pinned beneath the car at Washington Commons, a local shopping center. Fortunately, authorities indicated that the individual did not sustain serious injuries.

“We had to elevate the vehicle slightly to safely extract him from underneath, after which we provided medical assistance,” stated Morton Grove Fire Chief Will Paces.

The pedestrian was transported to Lutheran General Hospital for further evaluation and is expected to recover fully.

Footage from the incident showed several cars with extensive damage, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Cell phone video also shows the man trapped under a black Mercedes. A woman as seen speaking to him and holding his hand. ABC7 Chicago blurred his face to protect his identity.

“I was using the phone. And all of a sudden, you know, something hit, and my head basically hit the roof of my car. And when I came out that guy was under my car,” witness Mian Hafeed said.

Muhammad Moten was working inside a vape shop when he says he heard what sounded like an explosion. He ran out to see if he could help.

“I saw the old man is underneath of the car. We tried to talk to him. There was a lady who tried to help him. And ask him questions. Where you live? Because he’s alone,” Moten said.

Moten said it was the driver of a late-model gold-colored Toyota that caused the crash.
