Cops bust boyfriend accused of hacking NYC mom to death, stabbing her son

In a tragic incident in the Bronx, police apprehended a man on Saturday accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend and injuring her teenage son. The suspect, Juan Rivas, 45, faces charges including murder, manslaughter, weapon possession, and attempted murder in connection with the violent attack.

The victim, identified as 42-year-old Yesenia Hall, was discovered with multiple stab wounds to her neck and torso inside her Sherman Avenue apartment. Her 16-year-old son also suffered knife wounds to his neck and back during the assault, which police say occurred around 6:30 a.m. in the Highbridge neighborhood.

Witnesses reported hearing Hall’s desperate pleas for mercy, repeatedly shouting “Stop! Stop!” during the brutal attack. After the incident, the alleged assailant reportedly changed his clothes and fled the scene, authorities disclosed.

Rivas was taken into custody later that afternoon, at approximately 2:23 p.m., according to police reports.
