In Spain, two Jewish women reportedly faced ejection from a spa amid staff members’ hostile reactions upon spotting their Star of David necklaces.
These women, a married couple from America residing in Barcelona, were attempting to visit the gay spa, Sauna Thermas, when the incident occurred, as highlighted in a video shared by Israeli author Hen Mazzig on X.
The spa employees allegedly barred their entrance, continuously interrogating them about their political beliefs after noticing the necklace.
The author, Mazzig, chose not to disclose the women’s identities.
In the video, a short-haired woman with glasses, presumably a spa staffer, questions, “Are you a Zionist person?”
When one woman challenged the questioning, another staff member interjected, distinguishing between being Jewish and Zionist, all while displaying a sarcastic smile.
“They’re kind of the same thing,” the woman replied.
The second staffer, who was wearing a black tank top, then attempted to knock the Jewish woman’s phone out of her hand, and told her she wasn’t allowed to record in the spa.
A group of women then swarmed the two would-be spa goers and buffaloed them out of the spa as one of the women pleaded with them not to push her as other attendees just looked on.
“We don’t condone genocide,” the second short-haired woman screamed.
Outside the spa, the crowd of women became more physically aggressive, attempting to swat the phone out of the woman’s hand and snapping in the women’s faces.
“Free Palestine,” the staffer in the black tank top yelled.
The exiled women then approached a bouncer standing outside and attempted to explain what had just happened to them.
“So were kicked out because we’re Jewish,” one of the women said
“She saw our Jewish Star and she said you can’t be here,” the other added.
The pair asked if they could return to the spa, but the bouncer said they wouldn’t be permitted because they were recording.
“We just want to go in and have a good time,” one of the women said.
The two women promised they’d put their phones away if they were permitted to enter the establishment, but the staffer in the black tank top returned and put the kibosh on their hopes to return.
“Alberto, it’s a no,” she said.
The two women filed a police report after the incident, Mazzig said.
