In the aftermath of a shooting incident at a Jacksonville motel, both the suspect and witnesses have disappeared, according to reports from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Early Saturday morning, a man in his 50s was shot while engaged in a dice game at a motel located on Jacksonville’s Northside. The incident occurred at the Metro Inn & Suites at 1055 Golfair Blvd., with officers responding to the scene around 2:15 a.m. upon receiving reports of the shooting.
When officers arrived, they discovered the victim had sustained a gunshot wound, which was fortunately classified as non-life-threatening. The injured man was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Mitlyng shared insights with First Coast News, stating, “Our initial investigation indicates that the victim was participating in a dice game outside the motel when the assailant approached and began shooting.” Following the incident, both the suspect and all witnesses reportedly fled the location.
