A pair of men were quickly taken to the hospital after a group of demonstrators faced an assault outside the Iranian Embassy.
This morning, police stated that they have detained six individuals following the alarming incident near Hyde Park, London.
Police officers continue to stay at the location, as two men received medical attention for their injuries from the London Ambulance Service on site.
A spokesman for the Met said: “At 9.53am on Friday, 20 June, officers responded to reports of an altercation in Prince’s Gate, SW1.
“Six men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm – they remain in police custody.
“Two men were treated for injuries at the scene and have been taken to hospital for further treatment by the London Ambulance Service.
“Police have cordoned off the area while initial investigations take place.”
