Authorities reported that a black Honda sedan, moving eastbound on Addison Street, ignored a red traffic signal and collided with a white Toyota SUV heading south on Western Avenue.

The force of the collision caused the Toyota SUV to overturn and crash into a light pole. The driver of the Honda sedan then lost control, resulting in a crash with a black Toyota sedan positioned northbound on Western Avenue.

The driver of the Honda, a 21-year-old man, along with two passengers—a woman and a 22-year-old man—were taken to the hospital in critical condition with head injuries.

The driver of the Toyota SUV, a 57-year-old man, and his passenger, a 37-year-old man, were also hospitalized, albeit in fair condition, both having sustained head lacerations.

The Toyota sedan’s driver, a 41-year-old woman, was hospitalized for evaluation.

Citations are pending, and CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.

CPD did not immediately provide further information about the crash.
