The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office reports that Dr. Daniel J. Donofrio was found with thousands of images and videos showing the explicit sexual abuse of minors.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Authorities have arrested a doctor from St. Augustine for having numerous inappropriate images and videos involving children and toddlers, as confirmed by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The SJSO revealed on Facebook that Dr. Daniel J. Donofrio, aged 75, was apprehended on Thursday, facing 26 charges related to possessing material depicting child sexual abuse.

However, SJSO said additional charges are expected for Donofrio.

According to SJSO, detectives executed a search warrant at Donofrio’s home and seized several electronic devices.

“An initial forensic analysis of the devices uncovered thousands of images/videos, exceeding 3 terabytes, that detailed the sexual abuse of children and toddlers,” the SJSO stated in their Facebook update.

First Coast News has reached out to SJSO for Donofrio’s arrest report.
