Stabbing Reported at Upper East Side Apartment Building

A woman was hospitalized Saturday after being stabbed during an attack allegedly involving a 66-year-old woman inside a high-end co-op building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, sources said.

The violent encounter unfolded at 210 E. 73rd St., a residential building tucked between Second and Third avenues in one of the city’s most affluent neighborhoods.

Apartments in the Upper East Side co-op are far from modest: one-bedroom units in the building have been listed for as much as $700,000, according to StreetEasy data.

Authorities had not immediately determined what sparked the attack, but police said the victim was stabbed in the stomach and rushed by first responders to Weill Cornell Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

A 66-year-old woman identified as a person of interest was taken into custody, police said.

The building’s doorman told The Post the incident happened at about 12:30 p.m.

The stabbing appeared to stem from a domestic dispute, according to initial indications.

A neighbor from 220 East 73rd Street, who was smoking outside at the time, said he overheard one of the women connected to the stabbing “speaking to what appeared to be her patient on the phone.”

“I had just come back from running my errands and was having a cigarette and she asked me for one,” he explained.

“And I said no, and then I heard her screaming into the phone: ‘I do everything for you, I do your laundry, I take care of you, I take care of every little thing.’”

The investigation is ongoing.
