Stassi Schroeder Clark Holds Nothing Back in Hulu’s House of Stassi

NEW YORK — Stassi Schroeder Clark is stepping back into the spotlight, returning to television with a new reality series that puts her life, friendships and evolution front and center.

Viewers first met her in her 20s as a server on “Vanderpump Rules.” Years later, Schroeder Clark is reintroducing herself as a wife and mother of two, ready to shape the narrative on her own terms.

Discussing her new project, “House of Stassi,” Schroeder Clark made it clear that the series will not hold back. “Quite literally nothing is off-limits. You’re going to see everything,” she said. “It’s going to feel nostalgic because we have people from the past come in, but it’s also six years later, and you’re seeing us at a completely different stage. We shatter the fourth wall. We acknowledge that we’re filming a show the entire time. I think it’s unlike anything anyone has ever seen before, and people are going to love it.”

Looking back on her “Vanderpump Rules” era, Schroeder Clark said time and motherhood have changed her perspective. “I just feel different. That comes with age, and that comes with becoming a parent. I’d like to think I’m a little more patient and thoughtful. But I still have a lot of that Vanderpump Stassi in me.”

Taylor Strecker also opened up about the start of her friendship with Schroeder Clark, tracing their connection back to an early media appearance.

“I actually met Stassi when I was interviewing her at SiriusXM, what, 15 years ago? After Season 1 of Vanderpump Rules, she was doing press, and I interviewed her. Immediately, I was like, ‘Soulmate energy.’ It’s like a dream come true.”

Schroeder Clark joked that the series has given her an almost magical role in her inner circle. “I feel like I’m a wizard who’s making all my friends’ dreams come true,” she said.

“Literally,” Strecker added.

“And that’s very satisfying,” Schroeder Clark said.

Schroeder Clark said she was inspired by Kris Jenner when deciding to build a show around family and friends.

“Look at what she’s done for her family. Look at the opportunities she’s given them and how she’s built up their careers. I want to be able to do that for the people I love. And I want to be working every day with the people I love. I never want to go to work and think, ‘My co-workers suck.’ That’s not fun. I like to surround myself with my loved ones, and now they can be on the payroll.”

“What’s better than being on Stassi Schroeder’s payroll?” Strecker joked.

Schroeder Clark said authenticity was nonnegotiable when filming the series.

“I drilled it into everyone’s heads. I was like, ‘If we’re going to make a super-real show, one that people actually want to watch, we can’t be like, “No, I won’t do that. No, I’m not going to say that.”‘ You really have to lay it all out on the table. You can’t have boundaries on reality TV. If you have boundaries on reality TV, you don’t belong on reality TV.”

Strecker agreed.

“A producer said to me at the beginning of filming, ‘If you think it, say it.’ That was the greatest piece of advice. It’s really group therapy. I feel closer to Stassi. I feel closer to my wife. I feel closer to everybody in the cast.”

Asked whether family and marriages were off-limits, both quickly answered, “No.”

During a word association game, Schroeder Clark responded “Me” when asked about Kris Jenner.

When the topic turned to motherhood, Strecker replied, “Both of us. Well, I’m a dad.”

“You’re a dad,” Schroeder Clark responded.

Asked about Georgia, Schroeder Clark said, “Italiano.”

“I was going to say drama, but I guess that’s Georgi,” Strecker said.

When Georgi’s name came up, Schroeder Clark’s response was simple: “Liar.”

Asked about Katie, Strecker responded, “Sweet.”

“Whoa. Really?” Schroeder Clark said.

“Shocking, I know,” Strecker said.

And when asked about House of Stassi itself, both had the same answer.

“LFG,” Strecker said.

“Yes. LFG. Let’s go,” Schroeder Clark said.

You can watch “House of Stassi” on Hulu.
