The couple’s lifeless bodies were discovered in their Columbus residence on December 30, while their two children were found unharmed inside the home.
Surveillance footage from the area played a crucial role in identifying McKee, according to court records.
This case, which captured national media attention, led investigators on an interstate pursuit before McKee was apprehended in Rockford on Saturday. The reasons behind his presence in Rockford, where he works as a vascular surgeon, remain unclear.
On Friday, a Franklin County, Ohio grand jury indicted McKee, charging him with two counts of Aggravated Murder, one count of Aggravated Burglary, and an additional count of Aggravated Murder.
All counts include a three-year firearm specification for using a gun to commit Aggravated Murder and a six-year firearm specification for using a firearm suppressor.
