Straphanger, 33, stabbed multiple times in NYC subway attack -- crazed attacker still on the loose: cops

On a bustling Saturday afternoon in Queens, a subway rider fell victim to a violent incident that has left the city’s residents on edge. A 33-year-old man was stabbed multiple times on a J train, with the assailant still at large, according to police reports.

The attack took place around 3:36 p.m. as the train headed towards Manhattan, passing through the 111th Street station in Corona. The alleged assailant, described by police as an unidentified woman, inflicted two stab wounds to the man’s thigh, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed.

Following the incident, the suspect, thought to be between 30 and 40 years old, made her escape from the scene. The victim, displaying remarkable composure, managed to report the assault to authorities after disembarking at the Norwood Avenue station in Brooklyn.

Emergency services swiftly transported him to Brookdale Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition, officials stated.

Details surrounding the attack remain hazy. Authorities have yet to clarify the exact stop from which the suspect fled, the type of weapon used, or the possible motives behind the attack.

As of now, no arrests have been made, leaving the community anxious and law enforcement on high alert in pursuit of the suspect.

The attack is under investigation.

This incident comes two days after serial maniac Rhamell Burke — a 32-year-old troublemaker who has been arrested four times since February — pushed an elderly man to his death down subway stairs in Manhattan shortly after being held in Bellevue Hospital for just an hour for a NYPD-requested psychiatric exam.
