A group of men appeared to turn a Los Angeles police chase into a real-time spectacle early Saturday, livestreaming the pursuit on Instagram as officers followed their vehicle through city streets.
During the Instagram Live broadcast, several men could be heard swearing, panicking and trying to figure out what to do while LAPD officers pursued the speeding car.
The frantic video captured red-and-blue police lights flashing in the distance as the vehicle sped through Los Angeles with patrol units close behind.
As the engine roared and the suspects appeared to keep driving, a police helicopter eventually tracked the vehicle from above, shining a spotlight down on it.
At one point in the chaotic livestream, the men could be heard talking about a backpack and sounding increasingly concerned about their next move.
“I don’t know where to go my n—a,” one suspect said.
Another man could be heard telling someone to “get the backpack ready,” while a second voice shouted for him to hold it as police sirens wailed behind them.
Viewers also chimed in through the livestream comments, including one person who advised them to “lose them first and then toss it.”
About 3 minutes in, the livestream goes silent.

The Los Angeles Police Department told The California Post that Van Nuys units began a pursuit of a man with a gun around 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Police chased the hooligans southbound on the 405 until the chase ended on the 7th Street bridge.
Four suspects were taken into custody, officials told The Post.
Details about what was recovered at the scene or the identities of the suspects were not made available.
The user who livestreamed the chase, 310_luis_ , is present at the scene in handcuffs.
It’s unclear what the men were charged with.
