Texas student, 10, vanishes after being 'swept away by rapidly rising floodwaters'

A desperate search is underway in Texas for a 10-year-old girl who was “swept away by rapidly rising floodwaters,” officials said.

According to the Brenham Fire Department, the student was last spotted around 4:25 p.m. on Monday in Brenham, a city situated between Austin and Houston.

The department reported, “Search efforts extended throughout the night, involving ground teams, drones equipped with thermal imaging, and canine units.”

They emphasized, “Our commitment to locating this child and reuniting her with her family is unwavering. We urge the community to keep the child, her loved ones, and all responding personnel in their thoughts and prayers.”
