A Texas man has been arrested after police say he killed his estranged wife while their young children were at home.
Jake Bigoni, 37, was arrested Wednesday after officers conducting a welfare check on his estranged wife, Eliana Bigoni, found her dead at his apartment in Plano, Texas. Police said he was first booked on a felony charge of abuse of a corpse, with a murder charge added later, according to a department news release.
The welfare check was requested after one of Eliana’s friends contacted authorities, saying Eliana had missed an 8:30 a.m. breakfast Wednesday and was not answering calls, according to an arrest warrant obtained by FOX 4. The friend told police the couple was separated and that Eliana had been headed to pick up their two children, ages 2 and 5.
