A Texas mother is facing two capital murder charges after authorities said she fatally shot her two sons and appeared to injure herself.
Colleen Nichole Lemmon, 42, was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to an “unknown emergency” call shortly before 4:15 a.m. Thursday at a home on Big Sky Drive in Waxahachie.
When they arrived, deputies found two male victims inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 15-year-old boy, was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died.
Authorities also found Lemmon with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, deputies said.
Investigators said evidence collected at the residence established probable cause to believe Lemmon shot both of her children.

Lemmon allegedly told officers, “I shot both my kids.”
She was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, authorities said.
