Young People Yearning for Socialism and AI Governance Is a Dangerous Proposition

The Rising Appeal of Socialism and AI Leadership Among Youth: A Complex Challenge Ahead

Throughout history, attempts to implement socialism have consistently faced significant challenges, largely due to the difficulties in establishing a centralized governing system that can efficiently manage societal needs.

Historically, many have resisted socialism, often after prolonged struggles, as its collectivist nature can conflict with individual freedoms, personal choice, and the intrinsic human desire for happiness.

The situation appears to be shifting in the United States, however, where a growing number of young Americans are expressing support for socialist ideals, decades after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Recent polling by Rasmussen Reports and The Heartland Institute surveyed 1,496 likely voters between the ages of 18 and 39, revealing that over half support the idea of a democratic socialist candidate winning the presidency in 2028.

The survey also found that more than half of respondents view New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani favorably, with nearly 60 percent backing socialist initiatives such as a nationwide rent freeze and government-operated grocery stores in every community.
