“This is not the post I imagined sharing after the twins arrived,” wrote Tineke “Tini” Younger, a well-known TikTok culinary content creator, in an emotional update.
On Wednesday, Younger announced the heartbreaking loss of one of her twin daughters due to a placental abruption earlier in the week.
Sharing her sorrow with followers, Younger revealed that her daughter Arya, referred to as Baby A, passed away just shy of 36 weeks into her pregnancy. The 24-year-old conveyed the tragic news in a heartfelt Instagram message on November 26.
“This is not the post I imagined sharing after the twins arrived. Sadly, earlier this week, we lost our precious Arya,” Younger expressed. She described how, despite nearing full term, the unexpected placental abruption led to Arya’s passing.
In her update, Younger mentioned that the surviving twin was delivered safely and is breathing on her own, though she has not disclosed her second daughter’s name.
Placental abruption, a condition where the placenta prematurely separates from the uterine wall, can severely limit the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus. According to the Cleveland Clinic, this complication affects about 1% of pregnancies and poses significant risks.
Younger, who has amassed 12 million TikTok followers through her cooking content and viral recipe videos, competed on season 2 of Gordon Ramsay’s “Next Level Chef.”
The influencer married Antoine Wright Jr. in November 2024 and announced their twin pregnancy in June. The couple revealed they were expecting twin girls during a July gender reveal celebration.
“They both are so beautiful and Arya will always be celebrated,” Younger wrote. “Her sister will know she is a twin and has a beautiful twin sister.”
Younger said she will be taking a break from social media to grieve.
